Guide me, O thou great Jehovah – Verse 252

1. Guide me, O thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but thou art mighty; Hold me with thy powerful hand :Bread of Heaven, Feed me till I want no more.

2. Open, now, the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through :Strong deliverer, Be thou still my strength and shield.

3. When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside Death of death, and hell’s destruction, Land me safe on Canaan’s side :Songs of Praises I will ever give to thee.

How great thou art – Verse 253

1. O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder consider all the works thy hand hath made, I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed :

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, How great thou art! How great thou art!

2. When through the woods and forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze :

3. And when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die - I scarce can take it in, that on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, he bled and dies to take away my sin :

4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home - what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration and there proclaim, my God, how great thou art!

Immortal, Invisible – Verse 254

1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible hid from our eyes, Most blesse`d, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, thy great Name we praise.

2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might; Thy justice, like mountains high soarin above Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

3. To all, life thou givest, to both great and small; In all life thou livest, the true life of all; We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, And wither and perish, but nought changeth thee.

4. Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight; All laud we would render; O help us to see ‘Tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.

Lead us, heavenly father – Verse 255

1. Lead us, heavenly father, lead us o’er the world’s tempestuous sea; Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us, For we have no help but thee; Yet possessing Every blessing, If our God our Father be.

2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us, All our weakness thou dost know; Thou didst feel its keenest woe; Lone and dreary, Faint and weary, Through the desert thou didst go.

3. Spirit of our God, descending, Fill our hearts with heavenly joy, Love with every passion blending, Pleasure that can never cloy; Thus provided, Pardoned, guided, Nothing can our peace destroy.

Lord, the light of your love is shining – Verse 256

1. Lord, the light of your love is shining in the midst of the darkness, shining; Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us, set us free by the truth you now bring us, shine on me, shine on me.

Shine, Jesus, shine fill this land with the Father’s glory; blaze, Spirit, blazeset our hearts on fire. Flow, river flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy;

2. Lord, I come to your awesome presence, from the shadows into your radiance; by the blood I may enter your brightness, search me, try me, consume all my darkness. Shine on me, shine on me.

3. As we gaze on your kingly brightness, so our faces display your likeness, ever changing from glory to glory, mirrored here may our lives tell your story. Shine on me, shine on me.

3. Finish then thy new creation, Pure and spotless let us be; let us see thy great salvation, Perfectly restored inn thee; Changed from glory into glory, Till in heaven we take our place, Till we cast our crowns before thee, Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

Mine eyes have seen the glory – Verse 257

1. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath closed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on!

2. He hath sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgement-seat :O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on!

3. In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me :As he died to make men holy, let us live to make men free, While God is marching on.

4. He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave; He is wisdom to the mighty; he is succour to the brave; So the world shall be his footstool and the soul of time his slave: Our God is marching on!

We Have A Secret – Verse 219

We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim

and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.

Tribute To A Best Friend – Verse 220

Sunlight streams through window pane unto a spot on the floor.... then I remember it's where you used to lie, but now you are no more. Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound.... then I remember, It's where your paws would joyously abound. A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill, then I remember it can't be yours.... your golden voice is still. But I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall and lay them with the absent voice and unused dish along the wall. I'll wrap these treasured memorials in a blanket of my love and keep them for my best friend until we meet above.

Bridge of Love – Verse 221

There is a bridge of memory.
From earth to heaven above.
It keeps you always near us,
it’s called the bridge of love.

and God’s love around you flow,

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
but remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles.
I’ve only gone to rest a while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
my going has eased my hurt and given me relief.
So dry your eyes and remember me,
not as I am but as I used to be.
Because, I will remember you all and look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest awhile.
As long as I have the love of you,

Heartstrings – Verse 223

When those we love go away, they never really leave us; they are with us now, wherever we are. Those whom we have cherished, live on forever, for love wraps itself around the heart. Although it’s difficult now, someday beyond our tears and all the world’s wrongs; beyond the clouds and all that we can see and touch, we shall all understand.

Precious Gift – Verse 225

One gift, above all others God gives to us to treasure
one that knows no time, no place and one gold cannot measure.
The precious, poignant, tender gift of Memory ~ that will keep
our dear ones ever in our hearts although God gives them sleep.
It brings back long remembered things a song, a word, a smile
and our world’s a better place because we had them for awhile!
